A social and cultural space that provides room for diversified expressions
kargah’s cultural programme offers artists with and without a migration history the opportunity to show their art and connect with one another and with the public. We see ourselves as a house of encounters that offers space for completely different topics, perspectives and multiple cultural forms and creates a public platform for themes of concern to migrants.
May it be a multilingual lecture, movie evenings, art exhibitions or a programme of events for women. kargah wants to take a new and unusual look at social and cultural issues. Our topics can have a great variety: Ranging from migration, escape and expulsion through to political questions and discussing terms like integration or homeland.
The cultural programme is organized by different departments in our house. Apart from the general and widely spread programme “culture at kargah”, for instance the women’s meeting point La Rosa regularly invites female migrant artists to present their work, meets to spend movie nights and lectures together and works on a political and cultural level on the topic of women’s rights and migration.
